Color codes
« on: February 26, 2008, 08:29:44 PM »
Just asking is there going to be a color code say like green for a bar keeper or brown for people in the street or we could have set colors for when we speak like chell is yellow and I'm red, cuz it could get confusing with lots of colors going around the place but it's up to you.

ya I think there should be set description colors but different dialog colors if there is enough, which after we get a few more people there won't be but....maybe set career colors (jedi is blue, sith is red, NR is green...) that way you at least know the group of people that are talking just by looking at the colors. Just my idea but I'm not an expert so I'll differ to whatever is decided.

I've normally always allowed people to do whatever colours as long as its clear hat is descriptive and what is verbal.

AKA

Yellow is the most common in JA rp servers for descriptive, and cyan is most common for verbal in most servers. i should know, I started that trend. And both are extremely light colours, so stand out and are easy to read against any background.

To tell what faction people are is easy, just look at their name. Darth is obviously a sith, JK/JM/JP/JC is obviously jedi, and those without a rank or position thing in their name are usually factionless.

yeah it would be a good idea tbh to have set color codes for everyone, cuz if everyone chose there own it'd just get confusing. when your reading other people's threads.

I'm not saying it because I started it, but suggesting it because a- its now msot common via hudnreds of players

b- they are very very distinctive and easy to read in console and agaisnt most backgrounds.

I'm afraid that color codes are a little bit outside of my scope of abilities(and I have alot of those). Guess this is due to the fact that I come from a time long before Jedi Academy, and visual forms of roleplay.

Back then our color codes were, purple for actions, black for normal speach, and a preaty little thought bubble . o O ( ) for OOC.

So I hope you don't mind if I opt out of using color codes, except maybe in my name. Don't worry, you will be able to tell my actions from my speach. I will always make sure of that.
